Metrolinx, the operator of GO Transit, has announced that there will be no Lakeshore East train service over the weekend from coming Friday night.
Starting late evening on Friday, May 3, Lakeshore East train service will be temporarily suspended to allow for critical track work along the corridor. The last train will depart at 11:20pm, Metrolinx said.
Regular service will resume on Monday, May 6.
It said during this time, GO buses will replace train service along the Lakeshore East Line and will only stop at Durham College Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, and Pickering GO stations, before running express to Union Station Bus Terminal.
Passengers travelling to and from Danforth, Scarborough, Eglinton, Guildwood, and Rouge Hill GO stations are encouraged to use local transit options.
- GO Bus Route 90W will serve Union Station Bus Terminal, Whitby, and DC Oshawa GO stations.
- GO Bus Route 90R will serve Union Station Bus Terminal, Pickering, and Ajax GO stations.
- GO Bus Route 90B will serve Union Station Bus Terminal, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and DC Oshawa GO stations.
