On April 11, a patrol officer came upon a vehicle that was stopped in a live lane of traffic on Uxbridge Concession Road 6. The driver was observed sleeping behind the wheel while the vehicle was running, said a police statement.
Upon speaking with the female driver, it was observed she had slurred speech and appeared impaired.
She was arrested and provided two samples of her breath, registering 220ml of alcohol in 100ml of blood.
A 19-year old female from Uxbridge has been charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and exceed blood alcohol.
Please don’t drink and drive, said the DRPS.
Sleepy driver veers off into swamp
Driving tired is a form of impairment as it slows your reflexes and judgement, says Ontario Provincial Police.
It cited the case of a driver who veered off the road into a swamp.
Dufferin OPP officers waded through a swamp to assist a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel, said a tweet from OPP Central Region.
The driver missed a turn and crossed a highway and drove into the swamp. No one was injured, it added.
