19-year old stopped for weed, gun found

A 19-year-old male faces numerous charges after police seized a firearm during a traffic stop in Port Perry Thursday night.

On June 24, a member of North Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Simcoe Street and Greenway Boulevard. Investigation revealed that the lone occupant of the motor vehicle was in contravention of the Cannabis Act. As that investigation continued officers located a loaded a firearm.

He was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
