See agile suspect surrender after Air1, K9 and officers close in

After several fences were jumped in a dramatic night-time chase, Air1 and K-9 Unit helped locate and apprehend a suspect hiding in a backyard.

The suspect had fled from a theft at a construction site in Ajax overnight.

On Thursday, June 23 at about 12:57 am, members of West Division were advised of a theft in progress at a construction site on Bayly Street East.

Police quickly responded and located a female suspect and a pickup truck that contained stolen wood from the construction site. Two male suspects fled on foot, said a police statement.

Air1 located a male suspect attempting to hide in some residential backyards on Whitefoot Crescent. With assistance of the K-9 Unit, the suspect was taken into custody. Police continue to look for a third suspect.

The two suspects were charged and both were released on Undertakings. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
