20 charged in just 2 hours with failing to ‘move over’

It appears that Durham Police is on a blitz to implement its Strategic Road Safety Action Plan: Vision Zero.

DRPS traffic officers conducted a ‘Move Over’ campaign yesterday and – in just two hours 20 charges were laid for failing to move over, including one tow truck.

“Remember to always move over for emergency vehicles – its the law,” DRPS said.

Commercial Vehicle Blitz

Officers also conducted a Commercial Vehicle Blitz on Taunton Road in Pickering yesterday.

Ten vehicles were stopped with 6 taken out of service – 82 charges were laid including stunt driving and careless driving, tire defects, load security issues and document offences.
