25-year old woman seriously hurt in car crash

Uxbridge: A 25-year-old woman was seriously injured in a motor vehicle collision in Uxbridge on Wednesday morning.

On August 7 at 5:36 am, members of North Division responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Sandford Road near Uxbridge Concession Road #2 in Uxbridge Township.

Witnesses report the involved vehicle, which was a white Chevrolet Malibu, was eastbound on Sandford Road prior to the collision. The driver of the Malibu lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway and rolled-over before coming to rest on the passenger side.

The 25-year-old female driver of the Malibu was found inside the Malibu with serious injuries. She was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital before she was transferred by air ambulance to a Toronto-area trauma center where she remains in critical condition.

The road was closed for several hours while members from the Collision Investigation Unit examined the scene and collected evidence relating to the collision.

The investigation into the factors that caused the collision is still actively being investigated.
