37 new covid cases, 37 recoveries, no deaths

Durham Health yesterday posted 37 new Covid-19 cases for February 25, taking the region’s tally to 11,776 since the count began on February 29.

No new covid death was reported. There have been 9 covid deaths in February, 45 in January, 53 in December and 5 in November. Durham’s overall death toll stands at 295 with 217 of them occurring in LTCs.

There were:

  • 8 new cases in Pickering
  • 13 in Ajax
  • 8 in Whitby
  • 8 in Oshawa, and
  • 1 in Clarington

Recoveries stand at 11,217 (11,180), up by 37. There are 264 active covid cases.

Twenty cases are hospitalized with 11 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 244 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 3,406 in Ajax.

Death Toll: Total – 295              LTC – 217

Of the 99 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTC
Of the 49 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Forty-five deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 48 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
Fourteen deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
Sixteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
No deaths have been reported in Brock
