50-year old facing 63 charges for 20 incidents

Durham Police yesterday said a 50-year-old male is facing 63 charges related to 20 incidents of commercial break-and-enters.

From August to October, 2021, the accused broke into numerous commercial premises in Oshawa, Whitby, Pickering and Ajax, causing damage and stealing cash and other items. Investigators from the Property Crime Units in West Division, East Division, Central East and Central West Divisions worked diligently to solve these incidents, resulting in this arrest. During the arrest, police also seized fentanyl, said a statement.

Roger Prosper of Victoria Park Street in Oshawa faces 63 criminal charges including: Possess Break-In Instrument; Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5,000; Fail to Comply with Probation Order; Fail to Comply with Release Order; Break and Enter with Intent and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl).

He was held for a bail hearing.
