52-year old does 111 in 60 k/h community safety zone

You would have thought that constant reminders about schools reopening, increased police presence, and more than half a century under the belt, a motorist would have been more sedate in driving habits.

But no, according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), which yesterday clicked a driver doing almost double the speed limit – and that too in a community safety zone.

“A vehicle was stopped this morning on Rossland Road near Coronation Road for going 111 km/h in a 60 km/h community safety zone. The 52-year-old driver was given a speeding ticket and a 7-day vehicle impoundment,”said a DRPS rweet.

“As kids return to school please slow down & don’t drive distracted,” it added.
