73-year old on e-bike dies after hitting gravel pile

Durham police yesterday said a male has suffered fatal injuries following an e-bike collision in Pickering.

On Monday, May 11 at about 3:10 pm, members from West Division responded to a collision involving an e-bike in the area of Woodview Avenue, south of Finch Avenue.

A 73-year-old male was operating an e-bike southbound on Woodview Avenue when he struck a gravel pile and was ejected. He was transported to a local-area hospital in life-threatening condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation into the circumstanced of the incident. This collision is still under investigation, police said.
