Arson suspect located and arrested

On August 10, DRPS officers arrested a suspect that lit a shed on fire in Uxbridge on July 1 last year.

Last year, DRPS officers attended 53 Second St, Uxbridge, for a fire call which was deemed to be arson. A fire had been set to a shed and a bottle of an unknown accelerant was located at the scene.

Forensic analysis located fingerprints at the scene and a suspect was identified this year based on the fingerprint lifts.

Efforts made by North Division CIB and uniform patrol officers led to the suspect been arrested last week.

A 26-year-old male from Uxbridge has been charged with mischief under $5,000 and arson. He has been released on conditions and has been given a court appearance.
