Investigation into hate attack at Pickering zoom meeting

Durham Police investigators are asking for members of the public to call Durham Region Crime Stoppers or police if they have information regarding a hate motivated incident in Pickering.

On Friday, February 14, at about 9:10 am, members of the West Division said they were made aware of a disturbing incident that occurred during a City of Pickering zoom meeting on Wednesday, February 12.

During the meeting, unidentified individuals reportedly shouted racial slurs, one person drew a swastika, and another exposed themselves, police reported.
