Son arrested for Oshawa murder of 80-year old

Durham police have arrested a 42-year-old male in connection with Durham Region’s seventh homicide.

On Monday, October 20 at about 1:30 pm, members from Durham Region police attended a residential address in the area of Thornton Road North and Adelaide Avenue West in Oshawa where they located and arrested a male for the murder of Ibrahim Bala.

The accused, who is the son of the victim, was arrested without incident, police said.

The suspect, age 42 of Oshawa has been charged with Second Degree Murder. He was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
