The City of Oshawa has issued notices of application for Approval to Expropriate Land concerning five parcels of land on Conlin Road East.
The lands include plots 470, 480, 490, 500 and 510.
The city said the lands are being expropriated “for the municipal purpose of facilitating the reconstruction and widening of Conlin Road East between Simcoe Street North and Townline Road North in the City of Oshawa together with utility and ancillary works associated thereto”.
Any owner of land who desires a hearing into whether the taking of such land is fair, sound and reasonably necessary in the achievement of the objectives of the expropriating authority shall notify the approving authority in writing,, the city notice said.
There is a time limit of 40 days from the issue of the notice to register for a hearing.
At the end of September, the city had issued a notice to expropriate another plot of land – 1120 – on Conlin Road East (see below).
