Durham police yesterday said a 49-year-old male from Oshawa has been arrested after an incident near a high school in Clarington.
On Thursday, November 27 at around 11:50 am, members of East Division responded to reports of an armed person near a high school in the area of Brookhill Boulevard and Clarington Boulevard.
The incident began as a road-rage incident off school property. The suspect followed the victim’s vehicle to a parking lot near the high school.
The students approached the suspect vehicle and observed what they believed to be a firearm inside. The male suspect proceeded to exit his vehicle and walk along school property before returning back to his vehicle and leaving the area.
The school was immediately placed on lockdown. The male suspect was located a short time later and arrested without incident. Further investigation revealed the alleged firearm was a BB gun.
He was released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at drps.ca.
