Snow removal driver survives deadly crash + officer lucky too

DRPS Traffic Services yesterday reported a miraculous escape for a snow removal driver whose vehicle was trashed in a crash (see above).

“Thankfully, the driver of this snow removal machine escaped with non life threatening injuries after being struck by another vehicle last [Thursday] night,” DRPS said following the start of snow yesterday afternoon.

“It’s snowing again! Please drive to the conditions. Leave lots of room and maybe even drive slower than the posted limit,” it said.

400 Crashes

Meanwhile, the OPP Highway Safety division yesterday posted that there were over 400 collisions and calls for service in the GTHA in the previous 24 hours.

On one such occasion a Toronto OPP officer was injured after being rear-ended while investigating a separate collision on Highway 401 near Whites Road.
