Twice suspended driver back on the road… speeding

Some drivers are just obstinate as officers from the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division found out last weekend.

A driver was clocked doing 79kmh in a posted 50kmh zone at Taunton and Endfield roads in the Municipality of Clarington (top image).

Aa it turned out, when the driver was stopped, they were suspended x2. Their motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Driver On The Phone

In another incident at Harmony Road North and Taunton Road East in the City of Oshawa, stalwarts of the East Division stopped a driver in a high collision area for being on her cell phone (image below).

The driver will earn a fine $615, upon conviction for first offence, three demerit points and three-day driver’s licence suspension, police said.

Road Closure

Yesterday, the DRPS announced a road closure in the Town of Whitby.

Thickson Road North is closed in both directions from Crawforth Street to Dundas Street for a collision investigation. Please use an alternate route, it advised.
