A male is facing several charges after driving impaired and fleeing from police in Clarington.
On Monday January 26, around 3:30 pm, members of East Division responded to an impaired driver call in the area of Milligan Street and Port of Newcastle Drive.
A vehicle was reportedly doing donuts and driving dangerously in the area. Officers located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, however the vehicle failed to stop.
Police engaged in a brief pursuit before discontinuing due to the dangerous driving of the suspect. A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle after it went off the roadway. The suspect surrendered to police and was taken into custody without incident.

Drug Bust At Traffic Stop
Another man is facing several charges after being found in possession of drugs during a traffic stop in Oshawa.
On Tuesday, January 20, at around 10:40 pm, members of Central West Division initiated a traffic stop in the area of Stevenson Road South and Laval Drive.
Officers observed a quantity of drugs in the vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver. A search of the vehicle located over 1400 grams of cannabis in addition to other drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
