An Ajax man has been charged with conspiring to commit murder following a lengthy investigation into a plot to murder a couple living in Jamaica.
In late May 2019, the DRPS received information from the R.C.M.P. of a plot to murder two Jamaican residents. The DRPS Homicide Unit, began a coordinated investigation into this murder plot with the assistance of the R.C.M.P., Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Unit (MOCA), based in Jamaica.
Investigation confirmed that a Canadian citizen had travelled to Jamaica in mid-May 2019 to help plan the murder. The murders did not proceed and the Jamaican couple were unharmed.
Yesterday, at 7 am, a 56-year-old Ajax male was arrested while driving in the Highway 401/Brock Road area of Pickering.
Fitz Hutchinson of Camilleri Road in Ajax has been charged with Conspiracy to Murder and Counselling Offence That is Not Committed.
He was held for a bail hearing.
