One teen is facing charges after the vehicle he was in failed to stop for police in Ajax.
Yesterday at 12:05 am, members of West Division attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near Westney Road in Ajax. The driver of the black BMW failed to stop for officers and as the vehicle was fleeing, the officer observed something being thrown out of the window, which was later seized and believed to be cocaine.
The driver and his occupant got out of the vehicle at McGonigal Lane in Ajax and fled on foot. The vehicle was still in drive and it rolled into a fence and then into a nearby forested area. The passenger was taken into custody after a foot chase. The driver is still absconding.
Kion Knight-Forde, age 18 of Westacott Crescent in Ajax is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) and Assault With Intent to Resist Arrest.
He was later released on a Promise to Appear.
This investigation is ongoing and investigators are still looking to arrest the driver of the vehicle.
