Ajax plans to have a temporary crisis centre in downtown

Under Section 39 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended, the town may, through a by-law, authorize the temporary use of land, buildings or structures for any purpose that is otherwise prohibited by the Zoning By-law, for a period not exceeding three years. The town may, through a by-law, grant further periods of not more than three years, the notice explained.

It appears the town wants to exercise that right.

Public Feedback

The Town of Ajax said if no objections are received by noon on November 14, the town will proceed to pass the Temporary Use By-law on November 17.
