Durham Region Health Department yesterday said 173 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the region since February 29, 2020.
The count on April 1 had stood at 150 cases.
Of the 173 total cases so far, 31 are hospitalized. There have been 9 deaths.
Durham Health yesterday released a community-wide breakdown with the highest number of cases [42] in Ajax closely followed by 40 in Oshawa and 35 in Whitby.
To date, there have been 15 people diagnosed with Covid-19 who have recovered from their illness, Durham Health said.
