Ajax Winterfest returns with Virtual Frosty Fun

Ajax is urging residents to celebrate Family Day weekend safely with an online event, photo contest and winter activities

Town of Ajax and Ajax Public Library will host a special one-hour program, Winterfest – Virtual Frosty Fun! on Monday, February 15 at 2 pm. Watch live via the town’s Facebook or tune in to Rogerstv Durham.

It will feature performances from Fire Guy Glow who will light up your screen with an extraordinary LED performance, plus WonderPhil as he amazes you with his sleight of hand and magical acts. In between, sit back and enjoy the musical musings of local youth artist Avery Raquel.

The fun continues with the Celebrate Winter TOA Photo Contest and winter themed activities. Before heading out on your next Winter TOA outdoor adventure be sure to learn more about the science of ice from our friends at the Canadian Museum of Nature, and afterwards warm up and get creative indoors with wintery colouring from the Art Gallery of Ontario – perfect for all ages!

“I am proud of the way that TOA has pivoted to continue programming our special events virtually. While we miss connecting with residents face-to-face, Ajax Council is excited to participate in this year’s virtual festivities. There will be something for the whole family to enjoy. While we remain under the Province’s Stay Home Order, TOA has launched safe and fun Winter TOA activities, like natural ice rinks and virtual fitness classes, to keep residents active. Please follow Public Health advice and be mindful of the 3 W’s – wash your hands, watch your distance and wear a mask. Stay safe,” said Mayor Shaun Collier.
