Animal blamed for last night’s Oshawa power outage

Oshawa Power yesterday said last night’s power outage in South Oshawa was the result of an animal contact with Oshawa Power equipment.

“Our crews were able to patrol our lines, identify the issue, and safely make a full restoration in less than one hour, said an Oshawa Power tweet.

It did not elaborate, nor identify what kind of animal caused the power outage and how.

Oshawa Power thanked customers for their patience and assistance in reporting any and all outages. “Our number one priority is to provide safe and reliable power to all of Oshawa, all of the time.”

According to Oshawa Power announcements, more than 2,000 cutomers were affected by the outage.
