Another day, another house shot at… this time in Whitby

Durham Police said a suspect is being sought after shots were fired into a residence in Whitby.

There have been a spate of shootings across Durham in recent days (see below). Police said shootings have gone up by 33 per cent this year (see below).

On Sunday December 22, at about 10:35 pm, police say they responded for gunshots reported in the area of Rivers Edge Place and Taunton Road East. A male wearing dark clothing was seen fleeing the area in a white Mercedes SUV. Officers arrived on scene and located a residence with several bullet holes.

The residence was unoccupied at the time of the shooting, and no injuries have been reported to police, say officers.
