Durham Police yesterday said a male is facing attempted murder charges after two separate violent stabbings and an assault in Oshawa.
On Thursday, August 29 at about 2:05 am, members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of John Street West and Nassau Street.
A male assaulted a female before stabbing another male and fleeing the area. The female sustained minor injuries. The male victim was located suffering from serious stab wounds and was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre in life-threatening condition. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Police searched the area and located the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.

Victim hit in head with a brick fights for life
Durham Police yesterday said they are searching for a male after he assaulted another male with a brick in Oshawa.
On Wednesday, August 28 at about 6:40 pm, members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call at Memorial Park, located at 110 Simcoe Street South.
A male struck another male in the head with a brick before fleeing the area. Officers arrived on scene and administered life-saving measures, before the victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in life-threatening condition. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as: male, White, 20-30 years-old, approximately 6’ tall, with a medium build.

Death threat man brandishes knife at police
A male is in custody after he threatened a female and brandished a knife toward police in Bowmanville.
On Wednesday, August 28, at about 12:45 pm, members of East Division, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, responded to a death threat call in the area of Bowmanville Avenue and Hartwell Avenue.
A male harassed and made death threats toward a female. Police arrived on scene and located the suspect, who immediately brandished a knife and began making threats toward officers. Officers successfully de-escalated the situation and took the suspect into custody without incident, said a police report.
The man, age 69 from Bowmanville was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Clarington man arrested for human trafficking
Police have arrested a male following the completion of a human trafficking investigation.
On Wednesday, August 28, members of the Human Trafficking Unit (HTU), with the assistance of the Peterborough Police Service Human Trafficking Unit, executed a search warrant on a residence and two vehicles. Numerous items relating to the offences were seized, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The man, age 29 from Clarington, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Police are concerned there may be other victims and are requesting anyone with information to come forward. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
