Beat the heat at Lakeview beach and Camp Samac

Community members are invited to stay active and cool off at Lakeview Park Beach and Camp Samac pool.

While visiting Lakeview Park beach or Camp Samac, community members are reminded to adhere to safety protocols, government orders and health authority guidelines.

Lakeview Park Beach

Lakeview Park Beach will be staffed with lifeguards daily between 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. (weather permitting) and hours may be extended to dusk during an extreme heat alert.

The City’s top priority is the safety and health of our community members and staff. Before planning your next visit to the beach, self-assess for Covid-19 symptoms using Ontario’s Covid-19 self-assessment. Community members are asked not to attend the beach if they are feeling unwell, have been tested for Covid-19 and are waiting for results, have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days, or have been in close contact with a person who has a probable or confirmed case of Covid-19.

The washroom located at the beach remains closed, however a limited number of portable washroom units, including accessible units, are available for use. Volleyball courts will not be available for use at this time.

Community members are reminded to follow safe swimming guidelines during their visit, including swimming in designated swimming areas and only while supervised.

Additionally, prior to planning your visit to the beach, remember to check the Durham Region Beach Monitoring Report for potential water quality advisories at Durham.ca/beaches or contact the Durham Health Connection Line at 905-668-2020.
