A young motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and sustained life altering injuries; a pedestrian was also injured in the single motor vehicle collision in Pickering.
On Wednesday, October 7 at around 4:35 pm, officers from West Division responded to a single motor-vehicle collision on Liverpool Road, north of Bayly Street.
A 21-year-old man was driving a motorcycle southbound on Liverpool Road when it lost control and left the road-way. A pedestrian walking southbound on Liverpool Road was also struck by debris, police said.
The motorcyclist was transported to a Toronto- area trauma centre where he remains in serious, but stable condition. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries and attended a local area hospital.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The cause of this collision remains under investigation.
