Booking opens for Oshawa ‘Swim for Life’ lessons June 6

The City of Oshawa will be making the transition from the Canadian Red Cross Swim Program to the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Program.

This change will take effect for the city’s summer program session, which will open for registration on June 6, said a city statement.

The activeOshawa 2022 Summer Recreation Program Guide will provide details on the new Swim for Life program and will be available for online viewing on Wednesday, June 1 at www.oshawa.ca/activeOshawa. Summer program registration will open at 8:30 am on Monday, June 6, with programs beginning the week of July 4.

Earlier this year, the Canadian Red Cross made the decision to wind down its involvement in swim and lifeguard training in order to direct more attention to surging humanitarian demands in other areas. For 2022, the Canadian Red Cross is supporting its water safety training partners in making the transition to the Lifesaving Society Canada.
