After Scarborough, attempted carjackings in Pickering

Durham Police said one male is suffering from head injuries after being pistol whipped in an attempted carjacking in Pickering. Another attempt was made at a female driver in the city.

Toronto Police are investigating four carjackings in a span of two hours in Scarborough.

On May 25 at about 10:40 pm, a female was sitting in her vehicle in the area of Sheppard Avenue and Whites Road, when she was approached by a male who knocked on her window. The female refused to comply with his demands to roll down her window. When he lifted up his shirt to show his waistband, she quickly drove away, said a police statement.

Shortly after at approximately 11:15 pm, a male was in the area of Kingston Road and Brock Road when he was approached as he exited his vehicle. The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s keys. The victim refused and was struck in the head with the firearm. The victim punched the suspect in the face and was able to run away. The suspect then fled the area, it added.

The suspect in both occasions is described as male, dark skin, 25 years old, 5’8 to 5’11 a thin build and all black clothing.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses with video in either area to contact police.
