Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said they stopped a suspended driver who was showing off his skills by doing dangerous stunts with his car.
The Traffic Safety Coordinator of DRPS North Division stopped a suspended driver yesterday (Tuesday) after observing him spin his wheels and drift his vehicle in a dangerous manner on a bend on Davis Drive in Uxbridge.
The driver almost struck an oncoming vehicle, said the police.
On May 24th a member of North Division observed a red Dodge Charger at the intersection of Davis Drive West of Regional Road 1in Uxbridge spinning his tires and drifting around a corner eastbound.
The officer observed smoke coming from the wheels. The suspect’s vehicle almost struck a westbound vehicle.
A 25 year old male, a G2 driver from Uxbridge, had been charged with drive motor vehicle – perform stunt and drive while under suspension.
The driver also had his vehicle towed and impounded for 14 days, and his licence suspended for another 30 days.
