Brock’s second planned power outage moved to Sunday

The second community-wide power interruption that was scheduled by Elexicon Energy to take place in Cannington on Friday, July 22 from 5 am to 6 am has been moved to Sunday, July 24.

It’s duration has been extended to two hours, from 5 am to 7 am, said a township statement.

The township statement said the scheduled power interruption was moved from the Friday to the Sunday to have less of an impact on Elexicon customers.

Notices will be delivered to all customers by Wednesday, July 20, added the statement.

It asked residents to make arrangements a head of time if they:

  • Are on life support or require a medical device supported by electricity (speak with your medical services provider for more assistance);
  • Have computer equipment;
  • Have an electric sump pump;
  • Have an electric garage door opener;
  • Have a security company monitoring your home or business; and
  • Have smoke and carbon monoxide alarms electronically connected to your home’s power supply without battery back-up.
