K9 Six helps police locate fleeing distraught man

It is not just criminals, suspects and perpetrators of various nefarious activities that the Durham Regional Police Service K-9 Unit is called upon to help locate.

It has been active in dealing with mental health issues among Durham residents too.

According to the latest tweet from the DRPS K-9 Unit, it was all about team work when a “distraught” man was reported.

PC Armstrong, K9 Six and officers from DRPS Central East Division teamed up to locate the distraught male who had fled his residence.

While tracking, Police Service Dog (PSD) Six located discarded property. Alert perimeter officers observed the male while Six was closing in, said the tweet.

The man was later taken to hospital for assistance.
