A warrant has been issued for a 50-year-old male who defrauded his business partner of over $650,000, said Durham Police yesterday.
Yun Fei Huang of address unknown, is wanted in Durham Region for Fraud Over $5,000 and Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 in connection with a business scam which took place last year.
Between August 2019 to March 2020, the suspect entered an agreement with the victim to run a business that would supply local stores with seafood. The victim invested over $650,000. When the victim demanded to see the profits of this fraudulent business venture, the suspect fled and never made contact with the victim, said a police statement.
Yun Fei Huang also known as ‘Joe’ is described as male, East Asian, 5’8″ to 5’9″ tall, slim build, short dark hair with grey.
Investigators encourage the accused to contact a lawyer and turn himself in.
