Traffic restrictions in Oshawa, Clarington

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced upcoming lane and road restrictions in Clarington and Oshawa, starting November 2.

There will be lane restrictions on Regional Highway 2 from Trulls Road to 300 metres east of Trulls Road in the Community of Courtice in the Municipality of Clarington.

  • When: November 2 to December 22.
  • Where: Regional Highway 2 from Trulls Road to 300 metres east of Trulls Road in Courtice.
  • Why: Construction of a watermain, median and entrance to support new development.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are reminded to exercise additional caution.

Bennett Road

Bennett Road will close at the CN Railway crossing, north of Port Darlington Road, from November 3 at 7 am until November 5, 5 pm for railway crossing work. Detours will be available via alternate local roads.

Road Closure on Beatrice Street East

The Regional Municipality of Durham is currently reconstructing Harmony Road from Rossland Road (Regional Road 28) to Taunton Road (Regional Road 4), in the City of Oshawa. Work includes asphalt removal, grading, drainage, granular base, curb and gutter, hot mix paving, storm sewer replacement, sanitary sewer replacement, watermain replacement, traffic control signals, street lights, bridge repairs, sidewalk and multi-use path.

The Region’s contractor, KAPP Infrastructure Inc., anticipates completing the work by August 2021.

Details: Beatrice Street East, west of Harmony Road will be closed between Harmony Road and Snowberry Street from November 2 to November 6. Access from Harmony Road will not be permitted, and access to the subdivision will be detoured through Storie Avenue, Attersley Drive and Elderberry Drive. Residents on Beatrice Street East within the closure limits will be permitted access on Beatrice Street East from the west.

Local residents should expect minor traffic delays and are asked to exercise additional caution for the safety of the construction workers. Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Notification will be given to residents if vehicles need to be moved out of the driveway.
