Cabbie charged with sexual assault on lady in wheelchair

A taxi driver has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman in a wheelchair who he had driven in his cab.

On Sunday, July 14 at 8:20 pm, a taxi driver operating a wheelchair-accessible vehicle picked up a fare in Ajax and was requested to drop off the female in Oshawa. When they arrived at the destination, the accused went into the rear of the cab and he inappropriately touched the female.

Syedbagher Moosavi, age 40 of Terraview Blvd in Scarborough, is charged with Sexual Assault.

He was released on a Promise to Appear.

Some People’s Comments

  • Lisa Patterson So I have sons who use wheelchairs and sometimes the driver would have to lean across them to hook them up and make sure they were secure and same goes for unclipping and unbuckling everything. I certainly hope this is the case that maybe he just accidentally brushed against her trying to do his job
Jason Gorley Im so glad all these people commenting know the facts of the case. Face it if the case was solid the accused would have been held. Promise to appear only means the case really isnt to strong and more than like will even get dismissed.
Helen Pataki-Witt So horrible that’s why always we have the same man for years.even if we pay a little more these days we cannot trust any one, like 2017 coming from the Airport in the middle of the night the guy took me every where rather than home & when I saw an other car on the stop light I opened the window & I screamed for help so this man followed the Taxi till I got home .TG there still good people around I hope she is OK
Mo Lagacé There is nothing better for the safety of women who use carshares/taxis than driverless taxis. Especially fully automated wheelchair accessible ones that don’t require any assistance. If I had the option I would never get in a vehicle with a strange man ever again. This is so tragic.
