Caesarea boat launch closed towards the weekend

The Township of Scugog yesterday announced the temporary closure of the Pier Street boat launch, in Caesarea.

It said that it will be undertaking the removal and replacement of a culvert located on Pier Street, some 50 meters north of Centre Street.

Work is scheduled to begin Thursday, September 11, pending weather conditions, and is expected to take about one week to complete.

Expected disruptions include:

  • Closure of the Pier Street boat launch
  • Local traffic will be permitted on the road
  • Parking will be restricted due to construction

“During this time, access to the boat launch at this location will be temporarily unavailable. An alternative boat launch location is available at 5 Old Rail Lane, Port Perry, for public use,” the township said.
