Car rams into truck has police asking for tips + Ajax crash

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has sent out a public appeal for information regarding an accident that took place on Highway 401 westbound in Clarington on September 3.

The incident happened around 3:51 pm last Thursday, westbound on Highway 401, west of Courtice Road.

A passenger vehicle collided with the rear of a stopped commercial motor vehicle transport truck that was on the right shoulder awaiting repairs, OPP said.

The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained serious, life-threatening injuries. A passenger sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

No injuries were reported by the transport truck driver, it added.

Whitby OPP are investigating and appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage to contact them at 905-668-3388, referencing incident # E261277693.

Ajax Collision

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday, Sunday September 6, reported a road closure in the Town of Ajax.

It said westbound lanes of Kingston Road between Westney Road South and Chapman Drive were closed due to a collision. Thank you for avoiding the area.

Some tow hours later the police  announced that the roadway has been reopened.

Thank you for your cooperation, it added.
