Clarington community mural to be unveiled on April 20

Clarington has announced that a community mural will be unveiled Veteran’s Square (cenotaph) at Town Hall on April 20 at 9 am.

The community was asked last April to paint one of the 700+ tiles used to create the community art mosaic mural.

Residents can watch the ceremony live on Clarington’s Facebook channel, or head to the cenotaph on Wednesday morning.

Led by Mural Mosaic’s, communities across Canada participated by creating murals of trees to symbolize connection. Clarington’s mural is an apple tree. Each square of the mural represents a tile that a different resident painted.

When all the tiles were completed, they were united to create one big painting of the apple tree mural.
