Impaired driver tests three times over the limit

It seems Durham Regional Police Services (DRPS) are cracking down hard on errant driving with a spate of campaigns across the region.

The latest catch has been by a DRPS East Division officer who booked a driver after a traffic stop. The location was not disclosed.

“Just after 10am, an experienced East Division Sgt. conducted a traffic stop and arrested a driver for impaired [driving],” said a police tweet yesterday.

It said the driver was operating the vehicle in a residential area and a nearby elementary school.

“The driver provided breath samples in excess of three times the legal limit,” said the tweet.

The police provided an image (above) of the vehicle with large quantities of opened cans of alcohol.

No further details were provided.
