Clarington Sports Leagues (CSL), a new way for residents to enjoy organized sports close to home, is being launched this fall by the Municipality of Clarington.
The inaugural season features an adult co-ed indoor soccer league (18+) at the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre’s new FIFA-sized multi-sport dome, delivered in partnership with Darlington Soccer Club.
The municipality states, adult co-ed soccer is just the beginning. As CSL grows, additional opportunities for different sports, age groups and interests will be explored.
It asked if residents had an idea for a future league? They can email suggestions to leagues@clarington.net.
This fall, Clarington’s newest league offers a fun and social way to spend Friday nights. Whether you’re a long-time soccer player or looking to try something new, the league welcomes a range of experience levels, they said.
League Highlights:
- 7-versus-7 quarter-field play
- 22 guaranteed games, including playoffs
- Fridays between 9 and 10 pm
- 50-minute games (two 25-minute halves)
- All games officiated and supervised
- Recreational format for a range of experience levels
- Teams must have at least three self-identified women on the field at all times
Resident Registration One Week Away
Teams can secure their spot beginning Wednesday, September 2 at 7 am, when registration opens.
If a resident has no team, they can join the Free Agent Waitlist by emailing leagues@clarington.net. If a spot opens up on an existing team, they will receive details on how to join, says Clarington.
