Durham police yesterday said a drug investigation in Clarington has resulted in two arrests and the seizure of over $13,000 in cash and drugs.
On May 21, members of the East Division Community Response Unit, assisted by members of the Criminal Investigations Bureau, completed a street-level drug investigation by arresting two male suspects. One male had been selling drugs from his home on Courtice Road, police said.
A search warrant was obtained for his residence, which resulted in the discovery of over $10,000 in cocaine, a quantity of MDMA and about $3,000 in cash, they added.
Glenroy Thomas, age 20, of Courtice Road in Clarington has been charged with: Trafficking and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. He was later released on an Undertaking.
Malik Hettiarachchi, age 21, of Oshawa has been charged with: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
