Covid Update: 128 new cases, 107,434 vaccine doses

Durham Health yesterday posted 128 new Covid-19 cases for April 4, taking the region’s tally to 14,968 since the count began on February 29.

Variants cases stood at 1,992. Durham’s overall death toll stands at 308 with 217 of them occurring in LTCs.

Recoveries stand at 13,366 (13,200), up by 166. There are 1,294 active covid cases.

Fifty-five cases are hospitalized with 14 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 1,239 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 4,392 in Ajax.

There were:

  • 33 cases in Pickering
  • 49 in Ajax
  • 19 in Whitby
  • 26 in Oshawa
  • 11 in Clarington
  • 1 in Uxbridge
  • 2 in Scugog

Death Toll: Total – 308              LTC – 217

Of the 99 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTC
Of the 52 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Forty-eight deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 53 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
Sixteen deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
Sixteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
No deaths have been reported in Brock
