Durham Health yesterday posted 176 new Covid-19 cases for April 6, taking the region’s tally to 15,290 since the count began on February 29 2020.
Variants cases stood at 2,300. Durham’s overall death toll stands at 308 with 217 of them occurring in LTCs.
Recoveries stand at 13,639 (13,509), up by 130. There are 1,343 active covid cases.
Fifty-nine cases are hospitalized with 25 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 1,284 people in home isolation.
Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 4,484 in Ajax.
There were:
- 36 cases in Pickering
- 44 in Ajax
- 23 in Whitby
- 41 in Oshawa
- 17 in Clarington
- 3 in Uxbridge
- 4 in Scugog
- 2 in Brock
Death Toll: Total – 308 LTC – 217
Of the 99 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTC
Of the 52 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Forty-eight deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 53 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
Sixteen deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
Sixteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
No deaths have been reported in Brock
