Covid Update: Durham sees 62 new cases

Durham Health yesterday posted 62 new Covid-19 cases for June 2, taking the region’s tally to 24,755 since the count began on February 29, 2020.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 369, with 218 of them occurring in LTCs.

Recoveries stand at 23,995. However, there are 391 active covid cases. Forty-one cases are hospitalized with 14 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 350 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of covid cases so far in Ajax.

There were:

  • 10 cases in Pickering
  • 13 in Ajax
  • 10 in Whitby
  • 15 in Oshawa
  • 11 in Clarington
  • 1 in Uxbridge
  • none in Scugog
  • none in Brock

Covid Deaths: 369

Of the 117 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTC
Of the 64 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Of the 58 reported deaths in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 62 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
22 deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
26 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
17 deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
3 deaths have been reported in Brock
