Covid Update: Thirty-one new cases

Durham Health yesterday posted Thirty-one new Covid-19 cases for September 15, taking the region’s tally to 26,618 since the count began on February 29, 2020.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 382, with 224 of them occurring in LTCs.

Recoveries stand at 26,057. However, there are 179 active covid cases. Six people are hospitalized with one in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 173 people are in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of covid cases so far in Ajax.

There were:

  • Six new cases in Pickering
  • Six in Ajax
  • Thirteen in Whitby
  • Four in Oshawa
  • One in Clarington, and
  • One in Uxbridge

Covid Deaths: 382

Of the 117 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTC
Of the 68 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Of the 60 reported deaths in Whitby, 31 in LTC
Of the 68 reported deaths in Oshawa, 39 were in LTC
23 deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
26 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
17 deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
3 deaths have been reported in Brock
