Impaired driving circles in police parking a total NO NO

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday arrested an impaired driver who insisted on driving in circles in the parking lot of a police regional headquarter.

“Driving impaired is a NO NO. Driving impaired while doing circles and flashing your headlights in a police parking lot – definitely a NO NO. Please don’t drive impaired,” said a police tweet.

Yesterday around 1.45 am, an officer at the Central West Division noticed a red Cadillac driving in circles in the police station parking lot.

The officer went out and briefly spoke to the driver and advised him to stop the car. The driver did not comply and continued to drive slowly in and around the parked police vehicles flashing his headlights, said a police statement.

He was eventually boxed in by two police cruisers and arrested.
