Cocaine, firearm seized at traffic stop, driver held

Two male suspects face numerous charges after police seized drugs and a firearm during a traffic stop in Whitby Monday night.

On Monday, September 13, members of Central West Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Champlain Avenue and Stellar Drive. Further investigation revealed that the driver was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Subsequent to his arrest, police seized a quantity of cocaine, two bottles of Hydrocodone and a loaded firearm. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and they face numerous charges.

Kion Knight-Forde, age 23, of St Ives Crescent in Whitby and Uriah Edusei-Needham, age 22, of Mahogany Court in Pickering face a combined 18 charges which include: Possession of a Controlled Substance for The Purpose of Trafficking x2 (cocaine, hydrocodone); Tampering with Serial Number; Carry Concealed Weapon; Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm; Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm and Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm no Licence or Registration Certificate

They were both held for a bail hearing.
