Cyclist seriously hurt in Pickering collision

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said a cyclist was in a life-threatening situation after a collision in Pickering.

The collision at Whites Road and Kingston Road caused the road to be closed while the Collision Investigation Unit icontinued to investigate the cause of the collision.

The 68-year-old male cyclist is listed as stable but has sustained life-threatening injuries, said a police tweet.

Earlier, another tweet said members from DRPS West Division were in Pickering for a serious collision involving a cyclist.

Westbound lanes have been shut down and the cyclist has been transported to a trauma center in Toronto with life-threatening injuries.
