Daylight stabbings in Ajax, Oshawa and Whitby

Three stabbings were reported over the past couple of days, in which all the victims received life threatening injuries and had to be rushed to trauma centres in Toronto.

A 56-year-old man was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre after being stabbed during an altercation in Oshawa on Saturday morning.

On February 27 at about 10:40 am, members from Central East Division were called to the area of Bagot Street and Simcoe Street South in Oshawa for a stabbing. A 56-year-old victim was sitting in a vehicle with a friend when the suspect approached him in his vehicle. The suspect confronted the victim and stabbed him. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle, said a police statement.

Police arrived on scene and located the victim who was taken to a Toronto-area trauma hospital where he remains in critical condition. Police officers visited a residence on Wecker Drive and arrested a 65-year-old male.

Calvin Barbour, age 65, of Wecker Drive, Oshawa is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Assault with a Weapon; Possesses Weapon to Commit Offence and Operate a Conveyance while Prohibited. He was held for a bail hearing.

Teen rushed to trauma centre

A 17-year-old Ajax teenager was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre early Saturday morning after a stabbing incident.

On February 27 at 12:16 am, members from West Division were called to the area of Pickering Beach Road and Bayly Street East in Ajax for a stabbing. A 17-year-old victim met with four suspects at a nearby school. The victim and suspects entered into an altercation where the victim sustained life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police arrived on scene and located the victim who was taken to a Toronto-area trauma hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators identified the three suspects, who were arrested and are facing numerous charges. Police continue to search for the fourth suspect.

Houston Henry, age 18, of McClustey Avenue, Ajax is charged with: Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence; Robbery; Assault with a Weapon; Possesses Weapon to Commit Offence and Aggravated Assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

A 17-year-old male from Ajax is charged with: Robbery and Aggravated Assault. He was released on an Undertaking.

A 17-year-old male from Whitby is charged with: Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence; Robbery; Assault with a Weapon; Possesses Weapon to Commit Offence and Aggravated Assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

Stabbing at a Whitby motel

A 40-year-old Oshawa man was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre early yesterday morning after a stabbing incident in Whitby.

On March 1 at about 1:40 am, members of Central West Division were called to a room at the Motel 6 on Consumers Drive in Whitby for a stabbing. The victim was involved in some kind of an altercation with two males before he was stabbed and sustained serious injuries and was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre.

Investigators are looking for two suspects who fled to a nearby white Honda Civic and left the scene.

Suspect #1 is described as male, black, thin build with short braids or cornrows.

Suspect #2 is described as male, black with a brown coat.
